General Issues
Katiescards.com Company E-cards website has been designed to be user friendly and to run smoothly on your computer. If you do experience any problems, you will hopefully find the solution here. If not please send us an email to help@katiescards.com and we will get straight back to you (Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm GMT)
This website and the animated and static Business Ecards are designed to work on most browsers, on windows and macintosh computers with an internet connection and the Flash plug-in installed. If your computer, operating system or browser are more than three years old you may experience some problems and it might be worth updating the system and browser software to the latest versions.
Firewalls should not affect the Ecards displayed on this site, as most default settings should work fine. If you or the Ecard recipient are having problems related to a firewall, your settings may by set to 'high security', change the settings to medium or low. Sending Business Ecards to your customers and staff should not be affected by firewalls and spam filters. Ecards are displayed in a new browser window (or tab), you or the recipient must accept user-initiated pop-ups, those created when you click on a link. Most pop-up blockers allow this even if you have them set to block pop-ups. If you are not seeing a new window playing your Ecard it might be a good idea to disable your pop-up window blocker. You can find some advice about your security settings on the Microsoft Help website.
How to send Corporate E-cards
How long can my message be?
You can write up to 1000 characters in the message area. Contact us if you would like it to be longer.
How do I upload our Logo?
Your logo will need to fit into a maximum space of 550 pixel wide x 200 pixels high, but if your artwork is larger it will be reduced automatically to fit. It should be against a white background and saved as a jpeg. You can add signatures around the logo on the jpeg before uploading it for a personal touch.
Do I have to enter a website address?
No, but you do need to enter some text in the box to proceed. If you do not have a website address, please just enter your email address, or your company name or slogan. If you do enter a website address just start it with www. as there is no need to include the prefix http:// it will be added automatically to the link.
What are the options for sending?
Option 1. On confirmation of your Preview you will receive an email containing a link to your customised card. You can then forward the link in emails to up to 1000 contacts (additional views can be purchased later by logging into your account)
Option 2. We can manage sending your customised Company Ecard to your mailing list, you can upload your contact list up to 1000 contacts, then click send, the Ecards will be sent automatically. There is an additional cost of USD $40.00 for this option. (additional views can be purchased later by logging into your account)
How do I upload my mailing list?
If you select Option 2 (see above) to send your Ecard emails through our website, on approval of your preview and completion of payment you will arrive at the ‘Add Contacts’ page. Click the icon to download a pre prepared Excel template, save the file on your computer’s hard drive. Then open the Excel document and enter, or copy and paste all of your contacts (name, company name and email address) then save it again on your hard drive. Now return to the ‘Add Contacts’ page and click the ‘Browse’ button to navigate to the Excel file on your hard drive, then click ‘Upload’ and your contacts will automatically be saved in your account. Click ‘Proceed’ and follow the instruction to send your Ecard to all of the contacts you have uploaded.
Can I send the Ecard at a future date?
When you have successfully uploaded your contact list you will then be taken to 'your cards' page, click ‘Confirm and Send’ and you will be presented with a final preview of your Ecard. If you select the 'Send Immediately' box, the E-card will be sent within 10 minutes of clicking the ’Send’ button. If you uncheck the box then you will have the option to enter a future date for the card to be sent.

The wording of the emails sent out will be:

Problems Viewing Company Ecards
I cannot view my animated Ecards
You will need to have the latest version of Adobe's Flash Plug-in installed on your computer to view the Ecards. It's free and it is very quick and easy to install. You can download the latest version by clicking on this link: GET ADOBE FLASH PLUG-IN
Nothing happens when I click on the link in the email
Sometimes email programs break the link into two lines, this will prevent it from working as a live link. If this happens you must copy and paste the whole link (both lines) into your browser, copy and paste the first line and then copy and paste the second line of the link into your browser address bar. Do not add any spaces between the "http:" and the end of the address. Once the whole link has been entered into your browser's address line, click "enter."
I can not hear the sound playing when viewing the animated Ecards
All of the Business E cards have music and sound. If you can not hear the sound while viewing the Ecards firstly, make sure your speakers are switched on, that nothing else is plugged into the speakers socket like a skype phone, then ensure that the sound is turned up. If you do not have a sound card built in to your computer, or no speakers attached, you will not be able to access the audio part of the Ecard.
The loading bar is moving very slowly
The Corporate Ecards available on katiescards.com website have been designed to be viewed on a broadband connection. The Ecards will all play if you are on a dial-up connection but some of the cards might take a few minutes to download and play.
A person I sent an E-card to did not receive it
The first thing to do is check that you typed their email address correctly as this is the most common reason for the failure of an Ecard being delivered. Alternatively, their computer or server could be treating the notification email as spam and blocking it, they should check in their spam folder to see if the Ecard notification has been sent there by mistake. Another problem is that someone else has accessed the recipients email and viewed the card before they had a chance to.
Can I or the recipient get a computer virus from the Ecard?
The Ecards are not actually attached to the notification email, the link in the email takes you to a web page where the Ecard is displayed in your browser so it is very unlikely you will get a virus.
Problems Logging In
My user name and password do not work
Make sure you have typed your username and password into the right boxes exactly as you did when you joined (case sensitive). If you still can not log into your account after re typing, click on the link to the right of the log-in boxes that says 'forgotten password', you will then be asked to enter your email address, and will be sent instructions to re set your password.

Problems Making Payment
If you are having problems making payment with PayPal
the following checklist may help:
- It sounds obvious but please recheck all details entered.
- You may not have enough funds on the card.
- Has the card expired?
- If you are using a bank as a funding source within PayPal, are there enough funds?
- Have you reached your sending limit within PayPal?
- Your issuing bank may need further verification for some online transactions.
